and made the barik filling the day before. So I ended up having plenty of time to get it done. I had time to do a little house work and take a walk too. Decorating the cake went a lot better than the Valentine's cookies. (I didn't write about it, but I made sugar cookies and started decorating them. Daniel was fussing and my frosting was too thick. I had two decorating bags and five colors of icing. I ended up using most of the dough to make cookies with strawberry preserves for filling. They were actually pretty good, looked nice, and were much easier than decorating!) Daniel slept while I did most of the icing on the cake, so it was much more enjoyable for me this time. It was a carrot cake, so I used a cream cheese recipe from Mom. I added some pineapple juice to flavor it. Joseph and I both liked the icing. I did a basket weave on the side, and stars around the bottom, and squiggly stuff on the top edge. I had never done the basket weave before, so it was kinda rough. You could see some cake underneath the weave, and I didn't get my lettering very even either. But I had fun with it anyway.
